Carmen grew up in small-town northern Alberta and graduated from the University of Alberta in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Carmen has worked with older adults her entire career, primarily in hospital and long-term-care settings. She has experience working with clients who have a wide variety of acute and chronic orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
Carmen uses a client-centred, fitness-forward approach to help her clients reach their goals. She loves to find fun and meaningful ways to help older adults build and maintain strength, balance, endurance, mobility, function, and independence.
Besides spending time with her husband and three kids, Carmen enjoys staying active with yoga, Pilates, and hiking in the beautiful North Shore mountains. She also loves listening to and making music, and has been known to coax her clients into dancing with her on occasion!
