Upon graduation from Dalhousie School of Physiotherapy in 1984, Barbara gained experience in cardiac rehabilitation, intensive care, neurology and geriatrics. Over the years she has taken on various managerial and supervisory roles within both Ontario & Nova Scotia.
Barbara has excelled as both researcher & clinician at the NS Environmental Health Centre in the management of chronic pain and fatigue, and has presented her research nationally & is a frequent guest speaker for the Arthritis Society. Barbara has also written a book titled “Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Owner’s Manual” (copyright 2008).
After 18 years with the Capital District Health Authority Barbara transitioned into the private practice world. Barbara works as both the Clinical Director for PhysioCare At Home and as a Physiotherapist and is active in Falls Prevention for the elderly.
She is a keen volunteer for various organizations and serves on many committees including HRM’s Serving Seniors Alliance. She is a proud mother of 4 and enjoys spending time outside as well as travelling with her husband.
